Peter and Olivia Plan for the Future, Bring Up Baby Talk

In the first hour of the season four closer, airing Friday, Peter (Josh Jackson) and Olivia (Anna Torv) share a sweet moment in bed, presumably before chaos ensues, in an exclusive scene from “Brave New World: Part 1″ to The Hollywood Reporter.

The reunited couple runs down a list of Massachusetts cities (Lexington, Medford among the lucky towns) they could move to and settle down in, but knowing how the Fringe universe operates, that won’t be happening any time soon.

At one point during the early morning conversation, Olivia brings up chatter about a nursery (a baby?!), which surprises Peter. And rightly so. It was several episodes ago that Olivia and Peter weren’t remotely on the same wavelength to even introduce such a topic.

In one of the scene’s funnier moments, Peter shares an anecdote about how Walter (John Noble) made his Labrador non-allergenic since he was allergic when he was younger.

With talk of babies, moving and starting a new chapter together, how much are you rooting for Peter and Olivia to get their happy ending?

When John Noble visited the THR Cover Lounge, he said that the series’ hinting of Olivia’s impending death will be addressed in the two-parter. “Olivia, it’s been said for weeks — or months, frankly — that Olivia is going to die,” Noble said, “and it’s sitting over us like a cloud and we have to deal with that. It has to be resolved and it is resolved.”

Michelle Williams Talks ‘Dawson’s Creek’ Reunion

Could a reunion show be in the works for the former cast of the late-nineties television show, “Dawson’s Creek”? According to Michelle Williams, it’s not out of the question.

The 31-year-old actress spoke about the possibility to NYMag’s Vulture at Sunday’s (April 22) premiere of her new film “Take This Waltz” at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City saying, “”[James] could totally ask! I’ve always said, I’m totally up for reunion tours, reunion shows, so we can do that.”

Her former co-star, James Van Der Beek, spoke out and shared his interest in making a new installment of the show saying, “I mean, if somebody came up with a brilliant idea how to do it, why not? I always love that Michelle is like, ‘I definitely wanna do it! I’m in!’ which is so easy for her to say because her character is dead. I always smile when I see that.”

Fox is close to renewing Fringe for a fifth and final season

Fox is close to renewing Fringe for a fifth and final season, TVWise has learned. For the past couple of months, Fox has been having discussions with Warner Bros. Television about the future of the low rated series. Sources familiar with said discussions tell me that, while there are still a few points that need ironing out, a deal for a fifth and final season of 13 episodes is expected to be reached within the next few weeks.

I’m told that one issue that has been resolved is the length of this fifth and final season; with WB initially pushing for a full season of 22 episodes, while Fox expressed that they would be more comfortable with a “limited episode order” of 7 – 13 episodes, which would get the show close to or past the 100 episode mark required for syndication. Another issue that has been widely reported on is Fox’s licensing fee for the series. I’m told that WB has offered Fox “a substantially lower” fee for the fifth season. As such, insiders tell me that they expect Fox to announce the renewal of Fringe for a fifth and final season of 13 episodes in the coming weeks.

This news will come as a relief to fans of the series, which has had a hard time in the ratings for its last two seasons. The latest episode of the sci-fi series attracted a mere 3 million viewers and a 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic in live+same day. With those numbers, most shows would be looking at certain cancellation, but the amount of money Warner Bros. stands to make from off-network syndication deals is the driving force behind the series’ future. The only real question that still needs to be answered is will we see an announcement before the network’s upfront presentation in May?
